6x6 oil on masonite. . This painting is another version of the painting "Posts Just Touch the Water" posted on Oct 28th. I just really enjoyed working with this perspective that I was compelled to paint more of the same. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking!
24x26 oil on canvas. This was my friend Ester, who passed away a few years ago. I have been working on this painting on and off for the past year. I'm finally close to completion and thought I would post the painting to share with you all.
Ester was such a sweet woman - I used to visit her twice a week. She never left her home but always had the door open for any company that wanted to stop by. She lived alone - a widow of 45 years! She was fiercely independent, a staunch Democrat and proud of her Tyrolean heritage! I absolutely adored her!

6x6 oil on masonite. . I was listening to Nora Jones song, "My Toes Just Touch the Water", while creating this painting and it turned out to be a perfect match! Your comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking!
When I was in Paris I saw this woman leaning against the wall entrance into the Rodan Museum - I was completely captivated by her blue eyes that I had to paint her! I thought this would be a perfect post to celebrate National Arist Day!
I was in Art School when Matthew Shepard's life was taken so tragically Oct 12, 1998 because he was gay. I was so distraught over this hate crime that it compelled me to paint this painting -- which says it all if you are familiar with his story.
With all the recent news about the 6 boys who's lives also ended early because of bullying and hate crimes I felt the need to address it here on my blog by posting this painting.....
18x24 oil on canvas. Click here to purchase. I changed up a few things while creating this painting. First were the color choices in my palette - I really wanted to use more muted colors, ones that were soft and monochromatic. And secondly, I used a palette knife more than a brush! Very unusual for me but I have to say it loosened me up and forced me to work the whole canvas! I'd love to hear any comments you may have! Thanks for looking!
